Diameter 36mm Optical Glass K9 ZF13 Mgf2 coated cemented meniscus Achromatic Lens


Meniscus Lens is a concave convex inducer used in CO2 laser and infrared optical system. Concave Convex Lens can reduce spherical aberration and produce the minimum collimated light focus. Positive meniscus lens is mainly used to minimize spherical aberration. When combined with another lens, the positive meniscus lens can reduce the focal length and increase the system numerical aperture (NA) without introducing obvious spherical aberration. When used to converge parallel light, in order to minimize the spherical aberration, the convex surface of the lens shall face the direction emitted by the light source. The coated lens is also widely used in visible and near-infrared applications.

Meniscus lens


           Example with BK7 material:These N-BK7 Meniscus lens are available uncoated or with one of five antireflection coatings (-A, -AB, -B, -C, or -D), which reduces the amount of light reflected from each surface of the lens (see the Selection Guide table below for coating option). Since approximately 4% of the incident light is reflected at each surface of an uncoated substrate, the application of an AR coating improves transmission, which is important in low-light applications, and prevents the undesirable effects (e.g., ghost images) associated with multiple reflections. Having optics that are AR coated on both surfaces is particularly desirable for applications utilizing multiple optical elements. Please see the Graphs tab for additional coating information.
